If you want to raise awareness to any topic you’ll need a lot… You’ll need social media, billboards and huge signs.. Or- to simply have your message warn by other people! That’s where “ChangeTee – Clothing Creating Change” comes in. This pair of people who formed the ChangeTee project are trying to raise awareness to an important topic which is- mental illness. It’s a topic no one likes to talk about- but effects us all. You might not know it, but odds are that you know someone with a mental illness…A friend, someone you work with, a family member, or even your partner. Showing them you support them will help more than you can even imagine. And here’s how ChangeTee are going to do just that…
These two amazing guys talk about their project all while exposing themselves for the social illnesses they both suffer from. From that they have designed some awesome Tees that we think you all can relate to, like this one, saying: My life isn’t always social media perfect-but it’s OK.
People don’t talk about depression.
And that needs to change. In the video you can here one of the guys saying that he feels off, since he posts on social media only happy stuff. People hardly ever post when they are sad, lonely or having a bad day- and that needs to change. People should start sharing more how they honestly feel right now instead of trying to show others that their lives are perfect… On the same note- people need to understand that life is not social media. If you posted a happy picture that doesn’t mean your life is amazing. There’s a huge gap between our Facebook pages and our lives, and we believe that these t-shirts will make that more visible to people.
Help them help the world!
The way that these two men are starting their business is simple- with Kick-Starter. They are trying to raise funds in order to print these shirts out and also find the time to create more and more of these, with different statements that the world SHOULD be wearing. And this is where you come in…
You could easily support these 2 young men and their business idea by donating money into their Kick-starter account, However, that will not really be a donation, more like a purchase. You could donate $30 to their project and that will make you eligible to get one of their t-shirts, so basically- you are helping their cause on a double standard (funding and raising awareness) all while getting a new cool t-shirt!
Quoting their Kick-starter page, here’s why they need your support:
This Kickstarter launch is raising the funds for the first run of t-shirts and also to use towards a bigger screen printing machine to work more efficiently and produce high quality products. Any money gained after the goal has been reached will go towards the second run of shirts and towards our first event.
